Downloading timetables

When the timetable has fully downloaded do not print direct from your browser otherwise some information may be missing due to the frame on the left hand side of the page.

Save the file in "My Documents" or other suitable location, close the browser, then open the timetable from where you saved it. Click "Page Setup" on the File menu and reduce all paper margins to zero then select Landscape format in Printer Options (if the timetable's width is greater than it's height). This enables the timetable to be printed on one sheet of A4 paper.

Help!

Could all readers of this page please take a few seconds to visit the Help! page in the left hand menu. The more contacts that PLEG gets, the more events that PLEG can organise using rare traction.

Word Viewer

There is a Word viewer (up to Word 2003) which is downloadable from the Microsoft website for people who don't have Microsoft Office installed on their computer. 08507 PLEG Charter

Thursday 9th September 2010

PLEG is delighted to offer a first, and very unlikely to be repeated, opportunity to have 08507 for haulage on passenger stock at Central Rivers Depot, near Burton on Trent.  In addition to the rare haulage, we will traverse as many lines and headshunts of the depot as we can within the operational and time constraints.  This is a charity event and the entire proceeds will go to the depot's chosen charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event will take place on Thursday 9th September 2010 at 19.00 prompt.  Ample free car parking will be available.  The event will last for approximately 40 minutes.

A minimum donation of £10 is required, though any generosity above this base price would be gratefully received.  PLEG must secure at least 50 participants to make the event viable.  Your donation will be taken on the day.

The visit will be open to over 16’s only and strictly no photographs will be allowed. Patrons must be able to climb numerous steep steps without assistance.

**UPDATE 01/09/10**

There has been a tremendous response to this proposed charter and it will definitely now go ahead. If anyone else is considering joining could you please still email the email link below in order to ascertain numbers.

Due to volume of numbers it has not been possible to reply to everyone who has signed up however anyone that has emailed is assured of a place.

Due to the overwhelming response to the charter we ask patrons to meet at 18.30 outside the depot to facilitate processing of donations ready for a prompt 19.00 start.

There are a number of people travelling to the charter by rail. If anyone could offer people a lift from/to Burton-on-Trent station this would be much appreciated and donations towards fuel costs would be given. Similarly if people want to sign up for a taxi scheme, people could meet outside the ticket office at Burton station (which is not far from Central Rivers) and travel to/from the event in twos, threes or fours (probably a couple of pounds each) if anyone would like to sign up for either scheme could they please email at

There are five people signed up to the taxi option so far and I will be in touch at a later date to finalise arrangements for meeting at Burton Station.

The possibility of an official photograph of the event is being investigated. If this can be arranged copies will be available after the event from myself which will be distributed to any interested parties.

Parking will be on a dual carriageway on the approach road to the depot. There are no yellow lines, no restrictions and there is ample room for everyone. I have been informed that the Barton junction (B5016) is required from the A38 between Burton and Lichfield to reach Central Rivers.

Definite expressions of interest for this event should be emailed to

Kind regards
Brillo

Locomotives would be used on an intensive two train service and, subject to suitable funding/commercial agreements, could see the inclusion of a train running on and off the main railway network at Wymondham Junction.

Two coaching stock sets will be in use including the MNR's well-renowned blue/grey air-braked Mk2 coaches.

During the day, in an event not seen since Rainhill, a cavalcade of locomotives will pass through Dereham Station allowing a full appreciation and photo opportunities to be had of the locomotives. This will then be followed by a naming of one of the engines.

The Golden Jubilee of probably the most followed modern day locomotives is bound to be a busy one, and this would give the MNR the opportunity to stage the first event of what is likely to be many. It is also important to recognise that the first use of the locomotives was exclusively in East Anglia back in December 1960 and the class has had a major association with the region throughout its history. A further running day will be held in late December to celebrate the very first day of service of the class.

Trade stands include B&E Model Railways, Visions International and Diesel Traction Video.

A one-day Rover ticket will cost £25 for adults and £16.50 for children; two-day Rovers are £40 / £26.50; and a ticket for all three days will be £50 / £33.
